EM 624 - Theory of Plates and Shells

Small-deflection theory of plates. Laterally-loaded rectangular plates. Navier and Levy solutions. Plates of various shapes, boundary conditions, and loading systems. Basic equations of the theory of shells. Design problems in cylindrical shells. Pre-requisite:  EM 423, MATH 321, MATH 331, or instructor consent. Credits: 3
