EE 571 - Fiber Optics Communications

Theory and application of optical fibers and communication systems.  Topics include fundamentals of optical fiber waveguides, electroluminescent sources, single-mode and multimode, propagation, coupling consideration, photo-detectors, signal degradation, fabrication and cabling, and transmission linked analysis.  Co-requisite:  EE 571L. Credits: 3
