Program Information
The graduate Chemistry Education Certificate is designed to provide current high school science teachers with graduate credit hours in chemistry, giving them the foundation needed to teach AP Chemistry, dual enrollment chemistry, and/or general chemistry at the college level. The program may also benefit community college instructors and others seeking graduate-level chemistry teaching credentials. In South Dakota, professional teaching certificates are renewed every five years and require six education-related credits; this program offers a pathway for teachers to fulfill those requirements while advancing their professional qualifications.
