Program Information
The Ph.D. in Nutrition and Exercise Sciences is a research-focused doctoral program designed to prepare scholars for careers in academia, industry, government, and health-related research settings. The curriculum emphasizes advanced study and independent research in areas such as public health nutrition, molecular and biochemical nutrition, obesity prevention, enhancing physical activity, longevity in health and wellness, and exercise physiology. Specifically, utilizing these areas to target different populations including children, adolescence, older adults, and first responders. The program aims to develop graduates’ skills in conducting original research and, for those pursuing academic careers, gaining teaching experience through assistantships or other instructional roles.
Areas of faculty research focus can be found by reviewing faculty bios on the school webpage.
