Globalization Requirement


Globalization/Global Issues

Goal: Students will understand how global issues, developments, and ideas affect their lives and those of others.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students will demonstrate awareness of multiple perspectives within the global community.
  2. Students will investigate and analyze contemporary issues, phenomena, and ideas with global impact, considering their effect on the individuals, communities, and social or natural environments involved.

Students select a course to meet the globalization requirement that also meets one of the SGR or IGR requirements.

*Selecting one of these may results in additional credits.

Students can select a course to meet the globalization requirement which also meets one of the SGR/IGR requirements or meets a major requirement with the following exceptions: ABS 482, International Experience (2-4 cr.), FREN 385, Travel & Study Abroad Francophone (1-4 cr.), and MFL 396-496, Field Experience (1-4 cr.). If a student selects one of these three courses, required credits would increase from 1-4 credits. Otherwise, selected courses do not add to the total number of credits required for the major. In no instance are the 120 credits required for graduation increased.
