ABE 253 - Introduction to Meteorology and Lab


This course is an introduction to Meteorology and forecasting. The major focus of this course is to understand public and aviation weather observations and forecasts. Topics covered include understanding the global energy balance and structure of the atmosphere as a background to explain seasons and weather. Air masses and frontal systems, and weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, icing, tornadoes, and tropical systems are related to forecasting.Credits: 3Corequisites: ABE 253L
