MATH 374 - Scientific Computation I Credits: 3 An introduction to the use of computers for solving mathematical problems originating in scientific application areas. Topics will include a discussion of rounding errors, and practical aspects of writing programs for problems such as solving nonlinear equations, approximating integrals and finding local minima.
Prerequisites: CSC 150 and MATH 125 .
