Credits: 3An introduction to the use of computers for solving mathematical problems originating in scientific application areas. Topics will include a discussion of rounding errors, and practical aspects of writing programs for problems such as solving nonlinear equations, approximating integrals and finding local minima. Prerequisites: CSC 150, MATH 125 and either MATH 215 or MATH 315; or CSC 218, MATH 125 and either MATH 215 or MATH 315.
