GEOG 353 - Geography of Religion

Credits: 3
This course examines the diversity of religious practice and belief from a geographical perspective. Each offering of the course will emphasize a different region of the world, with standard areas of study being North America & Europe, Middle East & Africa, South & Central America, and South & East Asia. The course will examine specific religious traditions (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc.) as they occur in a geographical region, the relationship between religion and place, and how religions change and adapt to new locales.
