Program Information
The Essential Workforce Skills Certificate provides a jump start for students seeking to build a strong foundation for college and career success. This certificate allows students to complete college coursework that applies directly toward future associate or bachelor’s degrees while developing skills that are highly valued by employers. The curriculum focuses on essential workforce competencies, including communication, quantitative literacy, inquiry and analysis, and critical thinking. Through coursework in the general education core, students strengthen their abilities in writing, speaking, problem solving, and mathematical reasoning—skills consistently identified by employers as critical for workplace success.
