Program Information
The Health Coaching Minor provides students with foundational knowledge and applied skills to support individuals in achieving sustainable lifestyle changes that improve health and well-being. The interdisciplinary minor integrates concepts from health sciences, psychology, nutrition, physical activity, and behavior change theory. Students develop competencies in communication, motivational interviewing, goal setting, and client-centered coaching. The minor complements a variety of health-related majors and prepares students for roles in health promotion, wellness, healthcare, and community health settings. Completion of the minor also provides foundational preparation for students interested in pursuing national health and wellness coaching certification.
