Program Information

A Health Science minor is an interdisciplinary concentration offered to any undergraduate student at South Dakota State University who completes a minimum of 18 credits across disciplines with a required core of course offerings. The purpose of the Health Science minor is to provide an opportunity for students to learn more about health and health care and to become competent in health knowledge, application of public health principles and healthful environments while pursuing other majors in the University.

HSC 212 - Contemporary Health Problems Credits: 2
HSC 445 - Epidemiology Credits: 3
or STAT 281 - Introduction to Statistics (COM) [SGR #5, HSDC] Credits: 3
HSC 452 - Interprofessional Issues in Health Care Credits: 3
NURS 201 - Medical Terminology Credits: 1
or HSC 250 - Healthcare Terminology in the Clinical Setting (COM) [HSDC] Credits: 3
or HIM 130 - Basic Medical Terminology Credits: 3 (DSU)
