Programs

The Department offers an M.S. in Counseling and Human Resource Development. Five specializations are available to earn the M.S. degree in CHRD. Four of these require a minimum of 48 credit hours and one requires 36 credit hours. All require both written and oral comprehensive examinations. See the Graduate Catalog for descriptions of available options.

Emphasis
Four specializations in CHRD are clinical, each with a different emphasis, including School Counseling, Community Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Counseling in a Student Affairs setting. Three of these specializations are CACREP accredited. These specializations share a core set of courses. The specialization in Administration of Student Affairs Programs track prepares students to administer college student personnel programs. Accreditation for the Rehabilitation specialization will be sought in 2008.
