GERO 520 - Grief and Loss Credits: 3 Overview of the experiences of loss and grief due to death and non-death related causes over the lifespan. Exploration of theories, models, and concepts of grief and loss, impacts of loss at different stages in life, and contextual factors impacting grieving. Students will examine their own attitudes toward grief, locate resources to assist those during loss and grief, identify factors which indicate need for referral to other professionals, and develop a plan for self-care when working in the midst of those experiencing loss and grief.
