NFS 660 - Maternal and Child Nutrition Fundamental principles of nutrition during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, and childhood. Topics include: the physiologic and genetic events that occur during the process of conception, pregnancy and growth; nutritionally critical periods during pregnancy, lactation and growth; implications of nutrition on health, growth and mental/emotional development; development of food habits in children; and the current educational and support programs available to the mother and child.
