NFS 750 - Childhood Obesity Prevention Using a transdisciplinary team of faculty and guest lecturers, students will be introduced to the inter-relationship of obesity and dietary components, behavior, exercise and sports science, physical activity, health promotion, genetics, nutrigenomics, child development, family dynamics, cultural issues, epidemiology, population disparity, educational leadership, public policy, and other related topics. Invited guest lecturers will introduce the complex issues surrounding childhood obesity and will present alternative strategies based on the speaker’s area of expertise and experience. An emphasis will be placed on student interdisciplinary teamwork to address the transdisciplinary issues surrounding childhood obesity prevention. Credits: 3
