EM 624 - Theory of Plates and Shells

Small-deflection theory of plates. Laterally-loaded rectangular plates. Navier and Levy solutions. Plates of various shapes, boundary conditions, and loading systems. Basic equations of the theory of shells. Design problems in cylindrical shells.P, EM 432, MATH 321, MATH 331, or consent of instructor.
