Nutrition, Food Science and Hospitality

Program Description

Courses offered in Nutrition and Food Science support the MS degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, MS degree in Biological Sciences, and PhD degree in Biological Sciences.  The following courses are only taught through the GP Ideas program: NFS 705, NFS 722, NFS 723, NFS 727, NFS 728, NFS 729, NFS 734, NFS 741, NFS 742, NFS 765.

Additional Admission Requirements


GRE: Required
TOEFL: Score of 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, 79-80 Internet-based
IELTS:  6.0

Letter of application to include the following: primary area of interest (nutrition, food science, etc); desired research focus; long-term goals outlining career goals; interest in assistanship (teaching or research); reason(s) for attending graduate school; current professional certifications and credentials; and interview (in person or via phone) is highly encouraged but not required.

General Requirements (Master’s degree and PhD)
